The Sherwood School District is pleased to announce that the Sherwood High School Band Program has been awarded the 2023-24 Programs of Excellence – Blue Ribbon Award for the Northwest Division from the National Band Association. This award recognizes high levels of achievement for middle and high school band programs regionally and nationally, and as a Division award winner the SHS Band Program is also a finalist for the National award (to be announced later this year).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"OSAA<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The Programs of Excellence – Blue Ribbon Award requires the submission of a variety of band program performances over a number of years for consideration, and the SHS Band Program\u2019s application for this award included student performances dating back as far as 2018. Noted SHS Band Director Brant Stai, \u201cI am humbled for our program to win such a prestigious, nationally recognized, divisional award given by the National Band Association. This award involved a rigorous application process, and being selected to receive the award is a true testament to the commitment to excellence our band students, parents, and community have demonstrated over the past several years.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
