District Announces Administrator Changes for the 2022-23 School Year<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Sherwood School District is pleased to announce the following administrator changes for the 2022-23 school year.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amy Green, Associate Director of Student Services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amy Green has been selected as the new Associate Director of Student Services, as the role will be vacated by Eryn Gonzales Randles promotion to the Director of Student Services role on July 1, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Green is an experienced educational leader with a strong history of working to support the success of all students. She comes to us from the Oregon City School District where she is currently a building administrator. Over the past decade Ms. Green has served as a Special Services TOSA, District PBIS Coordinator, and District Multi-Tiered System of Support Coach helping to make Oregon City schools inclusive, equitable, and student-centered. As a leader of school systems and programs, Ms. Green has worked to remove barriers that prevent students from accessing an engaging educational experience, while helping students and staff<\/p>\n\n\n\n

foster the connections and sense of belonging that are foundational to learning and lead to a culture of joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Green has served on the REL Northwest Equity in School Discipline Collaborative since 2019 and has worked with Oregon Department of Education partners since 2016 to develop an integrated statewide vision for educational equity so each and every student receives an excellent education in every school in Oregon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked about her new position, Ms. Green shared, \u201cI am humbled to be selected to serve the Sherwood community. I look forward to building relationships with our students, staff and families as we work together to elevate the success of all students.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Incoming Director of Student Services, Eryn Gonzales Randles said, \u201cWe are thrilled to welcome Ms. Green to the Sherwood School District and our Student Services team. Ms. Green rose to the top of a strong applicant pool as an educator who is passionate about serving students, staff and families. She is deeply committed to inclusive education practices and brings expertise in the development of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support. We are eager to work with and learn from Ms. Green as she joins us as the new Associate Director of Student Services.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Superintendent Dr. Heather Cordie added, \u201cThe selection process for the Associate Director position was rigorous and included a variety of stakeholders. Ms. Green joins our district with a desire to serve and support students and staff. Please join us in welcoming Amy!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mili Wilkinson, Principal at Middleton Elementary<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mili Wilkinson, current Associate Principal at Sherwood Middle School, has been selected as the next Principal for Middleton Elementary, a role that will be vacated by Jon Wollmuth on July 1, 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Wilkinson started her education career as a fifth grade teacher at Middleton Elementary in 2006. She later served as an Instructional Coach at Edy Ridge Elementary for three years before being selected as the Dean of Students for Laurel Ridge Middle School in 2018. Most recently, Ms. Wilkinson has served as an Associate Principal at both our Laurel Ridge Middle School and Sherwood Middle School campuses. Her heart for Sherwood, and the relationships she has built, are evident in every role Ms. Wilkinson has held within our district.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Superintendent Dr. Heather Cordie shared, \u201cWhen we learned that the principal position would be open at Middleton Elementary, we considered engaging in a hiring process to select the right candidate and very quickly came to the conclusion that the candidate best suited for that school community is already serving as a leader on our administrative team. Ms. Wilkinson is a strong instructional leader who has a passion for the elementary level \u2013 most notably, Middleton Elementary!  I am excited for Middleton as we welcome their new leader.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am honored to be named the principal of Middleton Elementary, a community I know to be collaborative and student-centered,\u201d shared Ms. Wilkinson. \u201cI started my career in education as a teacher at Middleton 16 years ago, and it has always held a special place in my heart. I am eager to build and strengthen relationships with students, staff, and families and look forward to contributing to the amazing work that is already being done.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emily Anderson, Associate Principal at Sherwood Middle School<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Emily Anderson has been selected as the Associate Principal at Sherwood Middle School, effective July 1, 2022, a position vacated by Mili Wilkinson\u2019s selection as the new Middleton Elementary Principal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Anderson came to the Sherwood School District after teaching business and math at Scappoose High School for seven years. She started her time in Sherwood as a math teacher at Laurel Ridge Middle School and after four years, moved to Sherwood Middle School where she served as a Math Instructional Coach for two years. For the last four years, Ms. Anderson has served as the Dean of Students at Sherwood Middle School. Emily’s dedication to SMS is evident in everything she does and this is one of the many reasons why we know Emily will be an excellent match for this new role. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Anderson had the following to say about her new position, \u201cI am both excited and humbled to continue to serve the students, families, and staff at Sherwood Middle School and the Sherwood School District. The middle level team is an incredible group of humans, with a strong focus on student equity, academic growth, and social emotional learning. The opportunity to continue to partner with Sherwood families and staff to provide a positive experience for our youth, is an honor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are so excited to have Emily join our administrative team,\u201d shared Sherwood Middle School Principal Marianne Funderhide, . \u201cHer experience as a middle school math teacher, Instructional Coach and Dean of Students at SMS has prepared her well for this position. She values relationships and getting to know the stories of others. Because of her commitment and hard work, she is trusted and respected as a servant leader.  Emily\u2019s visionary thinking will be integral to the learning and growth of our school community, and I look forward to working with her in this new role.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adam Mitchell, Principal at Sherwood High School<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Adam Mitchell has been selected as the Principal at Sherwood High School, effective immediately. In July of 2021, Adam was selected as Interim Principal for Sherwood High School, and since that time, he has demonstrated strong leadership and a focus on supporting the needs of our students, staff, and families at SHS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Mitchell first came to the Sherwood School District in 2009, and during that time he has served as a math teacher, a Dean of Students, and an Associate Principal at both Laurel Ridge Middle School and Sherwood High School. Prior to joining the SSD team, Mr. Mitchell taught math in the Tigard-Tualatin School District, as well as in Reno, NV and Singapore. Mr. Mitchell is also a resident of Sherwood, living here with his wife Amy and their two children.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Mitchell shared, “I am beyond humbled and honored to be able to continue to serve Sherwood High School, and the Sherwood School District in this role. The students, staff, and families of Sherwood High School have made the school the amazing place that it is, and our goal moving forward is to continue, and improve on, that success. I look forward to furthering current relationships, and building new ones with the entire school and local communities. In addition to so many others, I would like to thank my family for their continued support.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAdam accepted the Interim role knowing what a challenging time he would be leading the SHS community through.
