Below is text, and a link to the official press release from the cities of Sherwood and Wilsonville regarding the drinking water test results.<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Updated June 4th, 2018:<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

Follow-Up Test Detects No Microcystins in Wilsonville, Sherwood Water Supply<\/font><\/span><\/h2>\n

SHERWOOD, OR \u2014 Samples of local water delivered to a Seattle-area laboratory for testing on Friday, June 1, revealed no detectable level of microcystins in the local water supply, the cities of Wilsonville and Sherwood announced today.<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

A \u2018non-detect\u2019 result was returned this morning for three samples \u2013 source water, finished water and distributed water \u2013 supplied by the City of Wilsonville.<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

As an additional measure to ensure the health of the water supply, Wilsonville is sending samples to two laboratories to analyze seven straight days (June 1-7) of water.<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, the California lab handling the Willamette Water Treatment Plant\u2019s EPA-guided testing under the Unregulated Contaminants Monitoring Rule (UCMR4) delivered a promising preliminary follow-up report on the sample that initially detected microcystins. The \u201cAlgal Low 9\u201d test, which analyzes eight variants of microsystins and nodularin, returned non-detect for all nine variants this morning.<\/font><\/span><\/p>\n

On Thursday, May 31, Wilsonville learned that a UCMR4 sample detected 0.34 \u00b5g\/L, slightly over the EPA\u2019s guideline value for microcystins\u2014one of the four cyanotoxins of greatest concern in drinking water. <\/font><\/span><\/p>\n
